Cincinnati-native Juan Cosby releases his second album in two days via his own Grasshopper Juice Records. ‘The Inverted Castle’ psychedelic rap LP features a heavy-hitting lineup of indie rappers from across the country including Onry Ozzborn, Illogic, MC Homeless, Soultru, Heir Max, OneWerd, Ialive, Spoken Nerd, Happy Tooth, AllOne, AP Counterfeit, Adder, and Counterfeit Money Machine
Beyond the guest list, it is an album full of chippy synth melodies, mellotron choirs and flutes, breakbeats, and delay-drenched electric mandolin tremolos. Long-time collaborator Chris Barlow lends a hand with his groovy bass riffs that help keep the album from feeling too robotic or loop-oriented.
