Vice Souletric – Vice For President

Vice Souletric, although a local Cleveland artist, has a very extensive platform for his artistry. As a producer he has produced for artists like N.O.R.E., KRS-One, Saigon, Reks, Termanology, Rapper Big Pooh, Guilty Simpson & many more.  As a graphic artist he has serviced artists like Pete Rock & DJ Mick Boogie as well as Rapper Big Pooh!  This time around he paints a soundscape with his debut EP Vice For President!  The EP kicks off the track Brag Rap with heavy lyricism common to the liking of many true die hard indy Hip-Hop fans.  Far from being a cookie cutter emcee, Vice brings his unique rapid-punch yet smooth flow style with the Boom Bap beats we all come to love.  The soulful samples on the track Treadmill Lifestyle features long-time friend G. Huff as well as Reks (worked with DJ Premier, Styles P, Alchemist, Hi-Tek and many others) with lyrics like “Treadmill Lifestyle, the cycle never ends. spirit of my friends blowing in the wind.” the song paints the picture of those who grow up with a kill, steal mentality and how the cycle never breaks for those caught up in the plight of the drama.  Guilty Simpson accompanies Vice Souletric on the song Troublesome with a slower, melodic beat addressing issues of stereotypes and the antics often portrayed by other rappers in the media, issues with law enforcement and criminal activity.  Hate Myself snaps the album back to the way it started with a quicker anthem type boom bap beat and lyricism that deserves bumped loud in your cars & players! It’s nice to find artists who are not only conscious, but appeal on the street level.  He could be labelled as a Hip-Hop purist, Vice Souletric is an artist for not just Hip-Hop fans, but for other artists as well!
